Buffalo Soldiers -James A. Gibson

Sept. 13, 1880 - May 5, 1945

Gibson, along with Sol Sanford (died January 15, 1925, East N) and Robert Lee (died November 4, 1924 West I), were Buffalo Soldiers, the name given to black Americans fighting as part of the 9th Cavalry in the Indian Wars of the 1870s, 1880s and the Spanish American War. They fought in the Spanish American War, charging up San Juan Hill with Teddy Roosevelt. They later served in the Philippines.
